Remus had had enough and for the first time in his life he thought it would finally be the time to do something about that. Tomorrow he was supposed to once more go to a hospital, and he didn't even have an idea of where it actually was, just because his parents once more had found someone who believed that he was able to cure Lycanthropy.

When Remus was younger he had simply done as he was told, knowing that the supposed cure wouldn't work, but it made his parents happy which had been the most important for him. Now... now he didn't know whether he could go through something like that again. He didn't really know why he was suddenly feeling this rebellious, why he had the feeling that he would finally be able to stand on his own two feet. However, he had a small guess.

Sirius.

The first person who had made him feel like a real human being, and had made sure to let Remus for once in his life actually feel as if he was able to do something on his own, without anyone's help. However, when Sirius had asked him to move in with him Remus had refused. After all, Sirius had just gotten his own flat and it was their last summer before their last year at Hogwarts. It had seemed logical at first. It would be the last summer that he was able to spend properly with his parents, the last summer where he wouldn't have any responsibilities yet. But now, as he sat there on his bed with his bag packed with his most important belongings, he felt like he was making the biggest mistake ever.

He looked once more at his bag, then back at the door, listening carefully for the sounds in the house. His parents would be asleep by now, the perfect time to leave without anyone noticing. He wasn't one for big goodbyes, especially since this one would probably end up being a fight as well. He had written them a letter so he wasn't leaving completely without saying a word, but at least this way they would avoid the shouting match.

Making sure that he had really packed everything, Remus got up from his bed and pulled his bag over his shoulders. As quietly as possible, he opened the door and made his way downstairs. Only as he stood at the front door did he stop for a moment and closed his eyes. This would probably be the last time that he was here, knowing only too well his parents' opinion about his lifestyle and of course Sirius. To his parents it was already bad enough that Remus was a werewolf, being a homosexual made the whole situation even worse, which in the end helped Remus a little to leave this house with a bit more ease.

Shaking his head, Remus stepped out of the house and walked over to the nearest bus stop. He had saved up enough Muggle money during the last few days so that he could use the public transport to Sirius' flat. Since he was a werewolf he was already feeling the first effects of discrimination that the Ministry forced upon him. The Ministry had informed him that if he wanted to do his apparition license he would have to register himself and then go through another round of papers. So Remus had decided that he would do that as soon as he had finished Hogwarts, since he wasn't willing to give up his last year at Hogwarts just because of an apparition exam.

It took a while before Remus reached the bus stop, and the drive to the train station took another half an hour. While he sat on the bus, he could clearly remember the day he had suddenly seen Sirius in a different light. Sirius had always been an attractive specimen, which meant he had people looking at him nearly everywhere. It was something that Remus had quickly gotten used to and after a while managed to simply ignore them.

However, during the last year it had suddenly grown difficult. For some reason he had started to grow jealous and he had turned into one of those people who would look at Sirius, when they thought he didn't notice. At first, Remus had thought of it as harmless, after all, Sirius was his best friend and the two of them would never end up together like that.

But then Sirius had caught him staring one day and when he was looking back at Remus with that 'like-what-you-see?' look, Remus panicked and fled. He had tried to hide himself in the library for the rest of the day and had only returned to their dormitory as soon as he thought everyone was asleep. How wrong he had been. When Remus had entered the dorm, he found Sirius waiting on his bed, a small soft smile playing on his face while there seemed to be something else hidden behind that calm facade. They had ended up talking for quite a while, but somehow avoiding the real reason. When they finally had stopped talking Sirius kissed him, and everything had started from there on.

What then had happened during the next few weeks was still like a very good dream for Remus. The two had moved slowly, taking their time to get to know the other properly and in the process had spent many nights in the common room simply talking. Now... now Remus could no longer imagine his life without Sirius, and that was really the main reason why he was now on his way to his lover.

He was shaken out of his thoughts as he finally reached his station, stepping out of the bus with a light feeling in his heart. It had been right to leave his parents' house, no matter how much it actually had hurt at that moment. He had to live his own life now and going to stay with Sirius was the first step in that direction. At that thought, however, he had to stop in his step for a moment. What if Sirius had suddenly pulled back his offer and didn't want Remus to live with him after all. What if, when Remus arrived there, Sirius would have someone else sharing his bed and had forgotten about the promise he had given him.

Remus had always been insecure about his relationship with Sirius. He had never understood what the other man saw in him and sometimes felt that Sirius deserved someone better than him, something better then a lonely insecure werewolf. However, when he would mention that to Sirius, the only thing that he would receive would be a glare and a night of Sirius showing him that he did deserve everything that the other man was willing to give him. Keeping that thought in mind, Remus made his way towards the train terminal from which his train would depart from.

The station was quiet, no wonder, after all it was in the middle of the night and normally no one was crazy enough to leave the house at this time of day. For Remus it was nothing unusual. When he was younger, his parents had often moved around with him, and they had mostly left in the middle of the night so that no one would notice. Due to his mother being a Muggle, and not wanting to attract any attention from the Ministry, they had travelled with Muggle transport, which meant that for Remus the train was the most normal way to travel.

Back then, his parents hadn't had the money for a car, and even nowadays the money was scarce. Every year he had been amazed how his parents had managed to save up the money so that they could pay his materials for Hogwarts, even if it meant that his robes weren't the newest quality and that his books sometimes weren't the newest either. However, Remus never minded. He was simply happy that he was at all allowed to go to Hogwarts. This was the only thing that Remus hadn't thought about, how he was going to come up for his expenses for the next year. Truthfully, right now that was the least important thing he wanted to think about and he quickly pushed the thought to the back of his mind. He could think about this once he was settled, but not before.

When the train finally arrived and Remus had found himself a seat in an empty compartment, sleep finally took over. It would take some hours before he reached his station and until then a nap wouldn't hurt. When he awoke again, he felt disorientated for a moment, needing some minutes to remember what had happened and where he was. Remus was glad as he noticed that he hadn't overslept and let out a sigh of relief as half an hour later the train arrived at his station.

Finding his way to Sirius's flat wasn't as hard as he had thought it would be, after all he had heard the directions from his lover so many times it would have been difficult to forget. As he finally reached the door of the flat, Remus hesitated for a moment. It was 4am in the morning and Sirius was probably sleeping by now. He knew how grumpy Sirius could get when woken up in the middle of the night when there wasn't a proper reason for it, and Remus didn't know if he wanted to deal with a grumpy Sirius right now. However, standing outside in a place he didn't know wasn't the best either. So he gathered his courage and rang the bell several times. It took a while before the buzzer to open the door came, and Remus slowly made his way up to the 4th floor where he knew Sirius's flat was.

Sirius did indeed look grumpy, as he stood there in the doorframe only in his boxers and his hair messed up as if he had already been sleeping some hours. Remus felt the bad conscience once more build up inside of him, biting his lower lip again as he saw Sirius looking at him with a concerned expression, his grey eyes suddenly wide awake.

"Moony... what happened?" Sirius's voice was soft and inquiring, and Remus suddenly felt the exhaustion and the relief that he had finally managed to get to Sirius's flat catch up to him, tears starting to well up in his eyes in the process.

"Can I stay for a while?" Remus asked, his voice suddenly sounding rather hoarse. He suddenly felt so tired, and all he wanted to do now was to curl up with Sirius and have a nice long sleep.

He didn't have to wait long for an answer, and soon found himself being pulled in to the flat and led towards the bedroom. The next few minutes passed in quite a blur and when Remus finally managed to regain some kind of view over the situation, he was lying in Sirius's bed, dressed in one of Sirius's too large pyjamas and with Sirius's arm wrapped tightly around his waist.

"I am sorry for appearing like that," Remus said quietly, letting himself curl up against his lover's chest. This was where he belonged, and right now he really didn't want to be anywhere else in the world.

"You can always come at whatever time you want. After all, that's what lovers are for," Remus could hear Sirius whisper softly in reply. Smiling he pressed a kiss against Sirius's chest and felt himself drift into a deep sleep, thinking to himself that everything was going to be alright now.
